A clear look at what Purpose does, what you control, and how your customers get their food — before you fill out the application.
Overview
The Purpose Restaurant Marketplace gives participating restaurants another way to reach local customers without having to build their own delivery operation.
Approved restaurant partners receive a storefront inside the Purpose customer app where customers can browse the restaurant’s menu, customize items, place an order, pay securely, and follow the progress of their order.
Purpose Driven Delivery & Care LLC coordinates delivery through its network of associates. The restaurant focuses on preparing the customer’s food while Purpose handles dispatch, pickup, delivery, and delivery tracking.
The flow
When a customer places and pays for a restaurant order through Purpose:
New Order
The restaurant receives the order in its Restaurant Partner Dashboard.
Accept Order
The restaurant reviews and accepts the order and selects an estimated preparation time.
Courier Dispatch
Once the restaurant accepts the order, Purpose begins locating an eligible available associate for delivery.
Preparing
The restaurant prepares the customer’s food while the assigned associate travels toward the restaurant.
Ready for Pickup
The restaurant marks the order Ready for Pickup when preparation is complete.
Pickup
The associate confirms pickup. The restaurant’s responsibility for the delivery workflow ends at handoff.
Out for Delivery
The customer can follow the delivery progress and, when available, the assigned associate’s location.
Delivered
The associate completes the required delivery verification, including the customer’s selected delivery method such as PIN verification or Leave at Door/photo when applicable.
The Restaurant Partner Dashboard, Associate Dashboard, customer tracking system, and Owner/Dispatch system all read the same underlying restaurant order so the status stays synchronized.
Your dashboard
Restaurant partners can use their dashboard to manage their storefront and restaurant operations, including:
Restaurants can set their store status to Open, Busy, Paused, or Closed so they remain in control of when they receive orders.
Couriers
Restaurants do not need to provide their own driver for Purpose Marketplace orders.
Purpose Driven Delivery & Care LLC dispatches an eligible available associate after the restaurant accepts an order. The associate travels to the restaurant, waits if necessary, picks up the completed order, and delivers it to the customer.
From the restaurant dashboard, you can see the delivery progress — including when a courier has been assigned, is traveling to the restaurant, has arrived, is waiting for the order, and has picked up the order.
Customer view
Customers receive an easy-to-understand restaurant order tracker showing the progress of their food and delivery:
This is separate from the associate’s operational tracker. Associates see the job-specific actions they need to complete, while customers see a simplified order-progress experience.
Payments
Customers order and pay securely through the Purpose customer app.
Purpose processes the customer order payment and maintains the restaurant’s food proceeds separately from applicable Purpose delivery/service charges according to the approved pricing configuration.
Restaurant earnings are recorded in the Restaurant Partner payout system and paid through the restaurant’s connected Stripe account according to Purpose’s approved payout/settlement rules.
Restaurants securely complete Stripe Connect onboarding from their Restaurant Partner Dashboard.
Stripe — not Purpose — collects and verifies the banking and identity information required for payouts. Purpose does not collect or store raw bank account numbers, routing numbers, debit-card numbers, SSNs, or Stripe secret credentials.
Getting started
Apply
Complete the Restaurant Partner application with the restaurant and primary contact information.
Purpose Reviews the Application
Purpose reviews the restaurant for partnership approval and may request any required business or operational information.
Restaurant Account Is Activated
Once approved, the restaurant receives access to its Restaurant Partner Dashboard.
Set Up the Storefront
Add restaurant information, business hours, menu categories, menu items, prices, options/modifiers and food photos.
Set Up Stripe Payouts
Complete secure Stripe Connect onboarding so restaurant earnings can be received.
Review & Go Live
Once the restaurant’s required setup is complete and the storefront is approved/activated, the restaurant can begin accepting Purpose Marketplace orders.
